Welcome to IFS Online, the new way to buy your licence online. If you have set yourself up to buy online this season, you can log in to view your account (click the log in button above). If you have forgotten your password, don't worry, you can use your email to do a reset. If this is all new to you, we can get you set up in no time. If you've bought a licence before, set up is even easier.
What do I need to get set up online?
As well as your personal details you will require an email address. This is required in order to enable us the communicate with you. Communications will include emails of your receipt and licence, and details of any issues that may arise with your payment.
Can I buy a licence online without signing in?
No. An IFS Angling Licence is issued to a specific individual and we require a level of personal information in order to verify and communicate with anglers. If you have any concerns regarding providing your personal information online, you can view our Personal Information Protection Policy (PDF).
What other ways can I buy a licence?
You can purchase a licence over the phone from the Inland Fisheries Service on 03 6165 3808. You can also purchase a licence in person from one of our registered agents, which includes Service Tasmania.
No fee for junior angling licences
The Tasmanian Government is making junior angling licences free for the next four year. Junior anglers from 14, up to, and including, 17 years of age can fish Tasmania's inland lakes and waterways with a free angling licence.
This commitment runs until the end of the 2024-25 season.
Junior anglers under 14 yeas of age do not require an angling licence.
