Fisheries Habitat Improvement Fund

Dear Donors and Supporters,

I am writing to inform you that at the recent AGM of the Fisheries Habitat Improvement Fund (FHIF) the Trustees agreed to wind up the Charity.

This decision was made reluctantly.

Since the inception of the FHIF it has proven difficult to find people to govern the charity and do the additional work needed for it to grow.

The FHIF has greatly appreciated the ongoing administrative support provided by the Inland Fisheries Service however through discussions it was clear that this organisation was unable to take over the Fund.

It was also agreed at the AGM that the remaining funds be allocated to the Derwent Catchment Project for the purposes of fisheries habitat improvement.

The Derwent Catchment Project has previously received a grant from the Fund. The grant project achieved its objectives on time and within budget.

The Director (IFS) supports this course of action and is prepared to have a staff member oversight the expenditure of the funds.

If you have any questions regarding the winding up process, please direct them to infish@ifs.tas.gov.au

Thank you for your support of the Fund.

Regards
Michele Moseley
